Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa is a supporting element in the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia (Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia) which generally has  the duty and function of developing and protecting in the field of Language and Literature. In carrying out its duties, Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa is assited by 22 Technical Implementation Units, commonly called Balai Bahasa. Balai Bahasa spread throughout all provinces in Indonesia. In Riau Province, there is one Technical Implemetation Unit that located at Campus Bina Widya, Universitas Riau, Panam, Pekanbaru.
Based on decision of Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Repulik Indonesia number 226/01/1999 dated 23 September 1999, established 14 additional Technical Implementation Units, one of them is Balai Bahasa Provinsi Riau. The duties and core functions of Balai Bahasa Provinsi Riau itself are the same as those of other Balai Bahasa that have been determined by Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa. One of Balai Bahasa Provinsi Riau’s Annual Program is the Indonesian Language Week or Pekan Bahasa, which has many competitions such as Speech Contest for Junior High School students, Cerdas Cermat Contest and Indonesia Language Debate for Senior High School students, Host Contest for employees, Teaching Contest for Elementary’s teachers, and Language’s Ambassador (Duta Bahasa) for teenagers. Other program is Linguistic Seminars, such as Language Seminars for Mass Media, The Intoduction of EBI (Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia), and also The Coordination and Consolidation of Program of Balai Bahasa Provisi Riau.
In 2015, The Coordination and Consolidation of Program of Balai Bahasa Provinsi Riau had resulting in 68 proposed program proposals that will be persued by Balai Bahasa Provinsi Riau. Some of them are Sastrawan Ke Sekolah, Sastrawan Masuk Kampung, Penelitian Sastra Melayu Tulisan, the obligatory activity of reading Indonesian Literature Book for student before finishing their studies, and Napak Tilas Sejarah bagi Penulis Riau ke Situs-Artefak Bersejarah in Riau Province.
There are so many programs that have been and will be implemented by Balai Bahasa Provinsi Riau, but 11 billion budget per year disbursed by the Central Government is considered insufficient to implement all existing programs. So, Balai Bahasa Provinsi Riau needs to corporate with other institutions in Riau such as Lemabaga Adat Melayu Riau, Dinas Pendidikan, Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata, Pusat Penelitian Pembangunan, and also the Government of Riau Province.
Although Balai Bahasa Provinsi Riau is a structured body from the Central Government, we as Riau Society should participate in escorting and supporting the programs launched by Balai Bahas Provinsi Riau for the better developing and protecting Indonesian and Malay Language.

Siapa tahu bisa menghibur atau menjadi naskah alternatif bagi yang sedang membutuhkan naskah drama genre komedi. Peringatan! Naskah ini mengandung banyak kerecehan dengan nama tokoh sesuai nama asli –calon- pelakon. Jika kamu tertawa terlalu banyak sesuai comedy spot yang ada, selamat! Kamu sama recehnya dengan aku heheh...

How I Can Improve My Writing Skills

If other students of English Department was trying to improve their writing skills because the demand of this major, I have other reason that I called hobby. Yes, writing is one of my hobbies. I like writing to communicate with other people better then speak it out loud. This article isn't supposed to be my diary about how I could like writing but how I can improve my writing skill. Two of my writing lecturers have ever said the same thing, it probably sounds; "writing skill can be improved by practice writing itself". I do agree with this statement. There's no better way to improve our writing besides do write as much as we can. So in my planning to improve my writing skill, I put ‘more practices’ as the main way and the first step. I’ll spend most of my free times to write and write. The second step is learning as much knowledge about how to be a good writer and how to write a good paragraph.
